The next decade will bring unprecedented challenges—and extraordinary opportunities—for sustainability. With that in mind, we are proud to present our new strategy, guiding the Lundin Foundation through 2030.
Amid rising stakeholder expectations, evolving regulations, and accelerating climate impacts, we developed a framework to proactively address future sustainability challenges and opportunities. This strategy builds on both our past successes and lessons learned, while elevating our ambition, strengthening our resilience, and focusing on long-lasting, positive impacts on communities. The development of this five-year strategy was a collaborative effort, leveraging the expertise and insights of our staff, Lundin Companies’ Sustainability Leads, and the Lundin Foundation’s board members. The process was spearheaded by our senior management team, ensuring a comprehensive and strategic approach.
A cornerstone of our strategy development process was scenario planning, a method that acknowledges the rapidly evolving global landscape and the likelihood of a fundamentally different future. By anticipating multiple scenarios, we’ve built a resilient strategy to adapt, make informed decisions, and take purposeful action over the next five years.
The strategy is anchored in the Lundin Foundation’s vision of accelerating sustainability and changing lives. This vision is underpinned by a long-term, focused, impact-driven approach that emphasises:
- Fostering a Healthy Planet and preparing Lundin companies to respond to the most salient environmental impacts of the future
- Building Thriving Communities that are prepared to engage with resource development of the future.
- Leading Responsible Resource Development and embedding sustainability in Lundin companies to demonstrate transparency and build trust.
In response to industry trends and the needs of our partners, we have introduced 4 new focus areas: water stewardship, biodiversity, regional development, collaboration, and responsible supply chain.
As we look to 2030 and beyond, this strategy will guide our efforts to further our legacy as a trusted, long-term partner with deep expertise, dedicated to fostering collaboration and sharing resources and knowledge to create a lasting impact in the communities we serve.
