Lundin Foundation Joins the Mining Association of Canada

February 16, 2021 by Mark Sitter

The Lundin Foundation is pleased to join the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) as a full member. The Foundation plans to leverage its MAC membership to provide Lundin junior mining companies with access to MAC’s resources and expertise to support their strategic objectives and improve their capacity to align with industry good practice for environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.

Since 1935, MAC has been the national voice of the Canadian mining industry. Working alongside its members, MAC promotes the industry nationally and internationally, works with governments on policies affecting the sector and educates the public on the value mining brings to the economy and the daily life of Canadians.

The Foundation and some of the Lundin junior companies, which have assets both in Canada and internationally, will participate in MAC’s committees, which provide a peer-driven approach to:

  • Gleaning insights and understanding of the emerging industry and ESG trends, issues and opportunities, both in Canada and abroad;
  • Advancing advocacy and awareness-building efforts on behalf of the sector; and
  • Supporting professional development and network opportunities.

The Foundation looks forward to collaborating with Lundin companies and MAC and its membership on promoting a sustainable Canadian mining industry and supporting lasting development outcomes in host communities.
