Boosting Local Suppliers in Goiás, Brazil

November 7, 2025 by Juliana Marquez

The Lundin Foundation, in partnership with Lundin Mining, has launched Impulso Local, a supplier development program designed to strengthen the capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the municipalities of Alto Horizonte, Campinorte, Mara Rosa, and Nova Iguaçu de Goiás in central Brazil.

In its first phase (2025), the initiative has established a Regional Committee for Local Economic Development to coordinate efforts across the territory. An initial assessment identified 123 local businesses with potential to expand their participation in mining and regional markets but requiring improvements in management, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Next steps include the rollout of a targeted training and technical mentorship plan and the selection of the first 20 companies to participate in the program. A Local Business Forum will also be organized to facilitate market access and strengthen commercial linkages.

Developed in collaboration with Lundin Mining’s Chapada operation, Impulso Local supports the Lundin Foundation’s mission to advance economic diversification and build a more competitive local supply chain in the regions where Lundin companies operate.
